Feltet Kan oppgaven publiseres i institusjonens åpne vitenarkiv?
Publiseringsavtalen det vises til i hjelpeteksten til feltet:
Oppgaven skal publiseres elektronisk i NVA (Nasjonalt vitenarkiv). Dette er nedfelt i emneplanene. Du beholder opphavsretten til masteroppgaven, og den blir kun tilgjengelig i NVA.
Masteroppgaver er i utgangspunktet offentlige, men du kan si nei til publisering. Det kan da søkes om innsyn i masteroppgaven, men det kan ikke siteres fra den. De(n) som ønsker innsyn må selv kontakte forfatter.
Velger du nei her, vil kun informasjon (metadata) om oppgaven din, slik som forfatter og tittel, bli publisert i NVA. Denne informasjonen vil da være synlig og søkbar for offentligheten.

Lovbestemt taushetsplikt foreligger blant annet der oppgaven inneholder:
- opplysninger om noens personlige forhold *)
- opplysninger om tekniske innretninger og fremgangsmåter samt drifts- eller forretningsforhold som det vil være av konkurransemessig betydning å hemmeligholde av hensyn til den som opplysningen angår
- opplysninger undergitt taushetsplikt som forskeren får fra et forvaltningsorgan
- opplysninger som er mottatt fra private under taushetsløfte i forbindelse med forskningsarbeidet
- opplysninger som gjelder personer som står i et avhengighetsforhold til den instans (skole, sykehus, anstalt, bedrift, offentlig myndighet m.m.) som har formidlet deres kontakt med studenten
*) taushetsplikt er ikke til hinder for at opplysningene brukes når ingen berettiget interesse tilsier at de holdes hemmelig, for eksempel når de er alminnelig kjent eller alminnelig tilgjengelig andre steder.

When submitting in Wiseflow, several mandatory fields must be completed - author name, title of the thesis, abstract, language, and the fields described below.

Publiseringsavtalen (= the publication agreement) referred to in the help text for the field:
The thesis will be published electronically in NVA (the National Research Archive). This is stated in the course descriptions. You retain the copyright to your master's thesis, and it will only be accessible in NVA.
Master's theses are, as a rule, public, but you may choose not to publish it. In such cases, access to the thesis can be requested, but it cannot be quoted. Those seeking access must contact the author directly.
If you choose "no" here, only information (metadata) about your thesis, such as the author and title, will be published in NVA. This information will then be visible and searchable to the public.

Master's theses containing information subject to statutory duty of secrecy are exempt from public disclosure, and access cannot be granted.
If you choose "yes" here, only information (metadata) about your thesis, such as the author and title, will be published in NVA. This information will then be visible and searchable to the public.
The statutory duty of secrecy applies, among other things, when the thesis contains:
- information about an individual’s personal affairs*
- information about technical devices and procedures, as well as operational or business matters which for competitionreasons it is important to keep secret in the interests of the person whom the information concerns
- information subject to a duty of secrecy which the researcher obtains from an administrative agency
- information received from private sources upon pledge of secrecy in connection with research
- information concerning persons who are dependent upon the body (school, hospital, institution, enterprise, public autority etc) which has arranged for their contact with the researcher
*) The duty of secrecy shall not prevent information from being used when no legitimate interest indicates that it should be kept secret, for example when the information is generally known or generally accessible elsewhere.

If you had problems merging the thesis into one file, you can submit several files (attachments). If so, choose "Yes" here.

You can delay the publication of your thesis, for example, if you plan to publish an article based on the thesis.
In such cases, access to the thesis can be requested, but it cannot be quoted. Those seeking access must contact the author directly.
If you choose delayed publication, only information (metadata) about your thesis, such as the author and title, will be published in NVA. This information will then be visible and searchable to the public. The thesis itself will not be made available in NVA until after the specified period. The maximum period for such restriction is 5 -five- years.
