Regulation of Norwegian children's sports

Duration
–

50 years of regulations in Norwegian children's sports. The project examines the development of children's rights in sports and the provisions on children's sports through document analyses and interviews.

Purpose

The purpose of the project is to develop an understanding of how children have been perceived in the official value documents of Norwegian children's sports (children's rights in sports and the provisions on children's sports), how these have evolved over time, and what controversies they have sparked. The project aims to enhance understanding of the historical development of Norwegian children's sports and provide a foundation for reflections on the regulations that have governed and continue to govern Norwegian children's sports.

Project Description

The project will be conducted as a comprehensive study. It will include analyses of documents at various levels within the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, in Norwegian newspapers, and other printed publications. The documents will be supplemented with qualitative interviews with key individuals involved in the development of the documents and the controversies.
