Crisis preparedness at NIH

The crisis preparedness plan is the basis for the effective and correct crisis managemenet at NIH. As a student at NIH you must familiarize yourself with the crisis preparedness plan that you can see on Canvas. You must also know how to behave in a situation involving a terrorist or other kind of threat.

The crisis management leadership shall be prepared to be able to deal with possible threats that can arise at NIH. Examples of such threats can include: psychologically unstable persons, shooting on campus, bomb threats, death, severely injured student/employee/rental customer etc.

Emergency response number at NIH

Dial 22 85 66 65 in case of big-scale events (such as threat to the life and health of students and/or employees, major material damages, when emergency services are involved, in case of high media interest etc.).

Call the police or an ambulance first!

If you witness a serious adverse event, call the police by dialing 112, or an ambulance by dialing 113, before you call the emergency response number at NIH.

As a student you must know the following

  • Escape routes in general: check where the escape routes are where you usually stay on campus (classrooms, reading areas, the library etc.)
  • In case of fire: check where the meeting points are outside of the school at the designated areas.
