Research
Sarah is interested in the use of Outdoor life (Friluftsliv) and nature for mental health work. In her doctoral project, she investigates organized outdoor activities in a voluntary context to enhance mental health for youth. The project's goal is twofold: 1) to capture the participants' experience of a voluntarily organized outdoor life offering, and 2) to build a framework for using low-threshold outdoor activities in mental health work for youth. The project is conducted in collaboration with project partners The Norwegian Trekking Association and Mental Health Youth, and is supervised by Professor Simon Kennedy Beames and Associate Professor Vidar Sandaunet Ulset.
