Aspects of culture and health – public health and setting
Our specific contribution to the EU project of “Health(a)ware” concentrates on health formation (German: -Bildung). We developed the theoretical basis and suggestions for an intervention to enhance a health compatible lifestyle without explicitly using the term “health”. Instead, we suggest focusing on segments of culture (movement, nutrition, expression and communication, recreation and attire) that have an impact on the juveniles´ lifestyle. Thereby, the obligation of teachers to give relevant tasks shall be facilitated and discussions among students on the topic be stimulated. Suggestions were developed and tried out in practice cooperating with teachers.
Teachers of an “ungdom skole” were informed and given suggestions how to include the topic of lifestyle, culture and health into their regular program.
