Duration
–
Project type
PhD project
Affiliation
Department of Sport and Social Sciences

Purpose

This project aims to understand the attempts at safeguarding in sport in Southern Africa and to understand the local framing of safeguarding in the region. It will also seek to identify the barriers and challenges that exist in the development of safeguarding policy, to then determine how the IOC can use this localised knowledge in the development of its regional Safeguarding Hub.

Project Description

The project will be done using a qualitative approach, and data will be collected using semi-structured interviews (and focus groups if necessary). We will be targeting sport and non-sport stakeholders from both local and international organisations.
