Sport-IE is a European initiative to boost innovation and entrepreneurship (I+E) in sport science higher education institutions. By connecting education, research, and industry, the project empowers universities to drive societal change through increased physical activity, health innovation, and student-driven startups.

Purpose

Sport-IE aims to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship in sport science higher education. By enhancing collaboration between academia, industry, and society, the project supports the development of solutions that increase physical activity levels and promote public health across Europe.

Project Description

Sport-IE is a European collaboration led by the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship in sport science higher education. Through training, mentoring, and cross-sector collaboration, the project equips students and institutions to drive health-promoting innovations, address physical inactivity, and connect with high-value markets in sport, health, and technology.

Sport-IE will strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship (I+E) capacity in sport science HEIs through training, mentoring, and the exchange of I+E courses across partner institutions. The project will establish a European platform to share best practices and foster collaboration between academia, industry, and the public sector. These efforts will enhance student skills, promote health-oriented innovation, and support the integration of HEIs into sport, health, and technology markets—ensuring sustainable impact beyond the project period.
