Background and experience
I am a researcher and biostatistician at the Department of Sports Medicine at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH). My primary role involves contributing to research projects through statistical modeling, data handling, and study design, as well as assisting students and colleagues with statistical analysis and quantitative methods.
Education & Past Roles
Postdoctoral Fellow — University of Oslo (UiO)
Worked with melanoma registry data from Cancer Registry of Norway, analyzing long-term trends in tumor thickness and survival outcomes.
PhD in Applied Statistics — Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU, Ås)
Thesis: Exploration of Multi-response Multivariate Methods, focusing on multivariate simulation and statistical methodology.
Statistical Consulting & Supervision
Alongside my research projects, I assist students and researchers with statistical questions throughout their studies. This includes helping with study design, data cleaning, analysis, and visualization. I also supervise master's students on quantitative projects.
Research Focus
My current work at NIH covers several observational and injury surveillance projects:
- Sports Epidemiology & Surveillance: Contributing biostatistical analysis across projects in female athlete health, youth sports (handball and football), and international injury surveillance in elite football.
- Biostatistical Methods: Performing sample size and power calculations, applying generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) and survival analysis, and building data processing pipelines for sports medicine datasets.
