APA-tutorial, NIH's version

THIS IS THE OLD VERSION OF THE APA-TUTORIAL - PLEASE VISIT THE LIBRARY'S WEBPAGE FOR THE NEW VERSION.      You must document the literature you use, because it is important to acknowledge the contribution of other authors, and your readers should be able to find the sources you are referring to.

The number of authors determines how the document is cited in the text and in the reference list. Follow the rules for each document type (books, articles etc.) to complete the citation of the examples.

Use the title page (inside the book) - not the book cover, to find information about author, title, publisher etc. for a book or a chapter.

Articles from a newspaper/journal in print is cited differently from an article in electronic version (from the internet).
