IOC project: Injury prevention in slopestyle and big air

Big air og slopestyle are among the winter sports with highets injury rates. The appropriate shaping of jumps is a significant factor to reduce injury risk.

Formal title

Development of a valid tool to simulate jump construction in big air and slopestyle

The current simulation models applied to test jump shapes lack valid input parameters. The objective of the study is therefore to validate input parameters for jump simulations.

Using field testing in training and competition the input parameters like air drag, ski/board – snow friction, pop at take off etc. are measured.
