Young Scholar Workshop

Becoming a Sport Philosopher

In collaboration with the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport (IAPS), the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences is pleased to offer a one-day workshop for young scholars in the field of Philosophy of Sports.

The aim of this workshop is twofold:

  • to create an informal community of young scholars and promote communication and collaboration in the field of philosophy of sport,
  • to provide advice and feedback on concrete projects and potential publications in the area.

Young scholars welcomed include doctoral students and other scholars in the early stages of their careers in the field. The workshop is free of charge.

In the workshop, participants will meet experienced scholars in discussions on the nature of philosophy of sports as an academic field, on the challenges of becoming a professional academic, and on their own academic projects and publication plans.

The workshop is held between 9 AM and 5 PM on the 4th of September (one day before the IAPS conference) at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo.

Please reserve the date! More details will follow in due time. You can sign up for the workshop upon registering for the conference.
