Sports physiotherapy, injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament.
Marie is a PhD candidate at the Department of Sports Medicine. She is part of the "Delaware-Oslo ACL Cohort Study" research group. This is a prospective study on athletes in nonprofessional competitive pivoting sports with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture. Her project has the title "Prognostic factors and knee function in surgically and non-surgically treated patients with anterior cruciate ligament rupture". The main objective of the project is to assess early factors associated with long-term outcome, thus contributing to increase quality of treatment for patients with ACL injury.
Marie did her bachelor degree in physiotherapy at Sør-Trøndelag University College (2009-12) and completed her masters degree in sports physiotherapy at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in 2017. In addition to her research, she works as a physiotherapist at Nimi Ullevål.
