Marte has a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU – former Sør-Trøndelag University College, HiST), 2011-2014. She completed her master’s degree in sports physiotherapy at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH) in 2019. The master’s thesis was a prospective cohort study of prevalence, incidence and risk factors of injuries among rhythmic gymnasts. The PhD project is a follow-up and expansion of the master’s thesis focusing on injury prevention and women’s health within aesthetic sports (RG, classical ballet and dance).
Marte is a former top-level athlete within rhythmic gymnastics (RG), and also works as a physiotherapist in the Norwegian Gymnastics Federation’s medical team with the rhythmic gymnastics national team.
