Mathias Haugaasen works as an associate professor in Coaching and Football at the section of Coaching and Psychology. He has a Cand.Mag (2003), Master (2006), and a PhD (2015) from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NSSS), in addition to being a UEFA A-licensed football coach. The PhD focused on player- and expertise development in football and was conducted in collaboration with the Norwegian Centre of Football Excellence, while the Cand.Mag and Master both involved elements from the area of Sport Management. Haugaasen has his lecturing background from high school level and the NSSS, the latter mainly within coach and teachers education. Additionally, he is lecturing at various coach courses in Norway and abroad. Within football, his main role has been coach but also involved different roles including sport director, analyst, and scout.
