ECSS 09 - Sport Science in a Summer City
From Wednesday June 24 to Saturday June 27 participants gave approximately 450 oral presentations and close to 900 poster presentations
| 01.07.2009
The academic program included sport research from the disciplinary perspectives of natural science, medicine, social science and the humanities as well as applied and practical research.
Approximately 1700 participants experienced Oslo at its most beautiful with clear skies and high temperatures.
On the opening night, more than 1000 participants marched behind a brass band through the streets of Oslo to the City Hall for the Opening Reception.
The Closing Banquet was held in the beautiful surroundings of the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NSSS) and attracted a similar number of participants.
This has been the most significant academic event ever organized by the NSSS. The Congress has involved many employees and student volunteers in various committees and support functions. We are proud to say that the 14th annual ECSS Congress has put NSSS on the international map.
Moreover, the collective effort to organise the event has produced an NSSS corps d'esprit that will be of great value in the future development of the institution.
