Trine Stensrud will Friday 15th of February defend her doctorial dissertation “Exercise and Asthma – Climatic effects upon Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction and Exercise Capacity in asthmatic subjects” for Doctor Scientiarum at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Department of Sports medicine.

Frank Eirik Abrahamsen will defend his doctoral dissertation ”Stress in Elite Sport: A Motivational Perspective” for Doctor Scientiarum at Norwegian School of Sport sciences, Department of coaching and  psychology.

Professor Kari Fasting of the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences was a key contributor to a IOC Consensus Statement on sexual harassment and abuse in sport.

Tron Krosshaug Friday 18th of August 2006 defended his PhD "Video analysis of the mechanisms for ACL injuries" for the degree Doctor Scientiarum at Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center (OSTRC) and the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH).

FIS and Oslo Sports Trauma Research Centre team NSSS with dj Orthopedics to develop FIS Injury Surveillance System to reduce injuries in the ski disciplines at the elite level.

The newsletter Mandag morgen reports that the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences is one of the most productive High Schools in Norway. The  overview presented by The Norwegian Social Science Data Service, shows that when publication points are considered in relation to senior reasearch positions, NSSS excels amongst the other scientific Hich Schools with its 1.63 points. The University of Oslo has most publication points per senior reasearcher and stands out from the other Universities and High Schools with its 1.99 points.

Between 2nd November and 22nd December, NSSS will host nine exchange students. The exchange program Erasmus Mundus awards scholarships to selected Masters students from all over the world. Different consortiums set the terms for its programme within Erasmus Mundus. At NSSS the focus is on the field of physical activity and handicapped. NSSS is one of four high schools/universities chosen to participate in the newly introduced programme. The other educational institutions are The Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, The University of Limerick, Ireland and The Palacky University of Olomouc, Czech Republic.
