The Bachelor degree
The bachelor degree is based on valid exams at universities and colleges. Its given after three years of acceptable study with two of those years including specific courses in sport and/or physical education.

The Master degree
The masters degree is based on the acceptable completion of course work, a thesis and the passing of the required graduate examinations.
The Master study is a two-year full time programme.

The Doctor of Science (PhD) degree
The Doctor of Science degree is normally built on the cand. scient. degree. It is a three-year full time programme. While the preferred undergraduate and masters level programme would be in sport, health or physical education, it is possible to enter the programme with an undergraduate or masters programme which is relevant to the doctoral field of study. Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, psychology, history or sociology would be examples of such preparation.

Other degrees at universities and colleges
Our undergraduate courses can be accepted as creditable toward many degrees awarded at other Norwegian universities and colleges.
