Research Departments

The School’s academic activities are divided between five Departments. In addition, NSSS is affiliated with several research centers, some of which reside within the NSSS buildings.

 
Department of Physical Performance
The department’s area of academic competence is the factors affecting physical performance and the effect of training.
 
Department of Coaching and Psychology
The department’s area of academic competence is sport psychology, with activities centered on the disciplines of achievement psychology and health psychology, together with coaching.
 
Department of Physical Education
The department is dealing with the subjects of physical education, adapted physical education, dance education and outdoor education both inside and outside school settings.

Department of Sports Medicine
The department is responsible for education and research in sports medicine.
 
Department of Cultural and Social Studies
The department’s areas of academic competence are sport sociology, history of sport, philosophy of sport, sport management and to a certain extent physical activity and the disabled.
