PhD program

Norwegian School of Sport Sciences has a total of 60 doctoral students.

 
The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NSSS) awarded its first dr.scient in 1989. Since then 69 candidates have taken their doctoral degree.
 
Educational requirements
To be admitted to the doctoral program at NSSS, the applicant must normally have received a masters degree in sport science/cand.scient in sport science or equivalent education at this level.

Applicants to the doctoral studies must as the primary rule have received a grade point average of minimum B/2.5 or better on their master degree/cand.scient degree.

Financal requirements
A candidate must be able to document full financing to be admitted to the doctoral program. Potential candiates may apply to the doctoral program throughout the year. NSSS funds 32 fellowship positions. The positions are announced as they become available.
 
The committee for Research Education "KFU" is responsible for decisions concerning admission to the program.
