Short biography

Kari Bø is a highly recognized international researcher in the area of pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic floor muscle training. She has published more than 150 scientific papers in addition to several text-books videos and DVDs on exercise for women and pelvic floor muscle training. She is the former vice chancellor at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, vice president of the International Organization of Physical Therapists in Women’s Health, the Norwegian Sport Physiotherapy Association, and the Norwegian Council for Physical Activity. Kari is a member of the Norwegian Research Council’s Program Committee for Clinical Research. Besides her full time position as professor at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Departement of Sports Medicine, Kari is a project leader at Akershus University Hospital, Department of Gynecology (20%) and board member of the multidicplinary Pelvic Care Center.
