Thomas Losnegard (PhD student) and Kristian Dalene (Master student) were classified in the top 10 best poster presentations of the event. The YIA is a prestigious prize of the ECSS to stimulate young researchers for their contribution to sport science.

This year, 217 papers were submitted to compete for the award, which is sponsored by Mars Inc.
Thomas Losnegard presented a paper entitled: “MUSCLE USE DURING CROSS COUNTRY SKIING AT DIFFERENT INTENSITIES EVALUATED BY POSITRON EMISSION TOMOGRAPHY”. Co-authors were: Jens BOJSEN-MØLLER, Jukka KEMPPAINEN, Kari KALLIOKOSKI and Jostein HALLÉN
Knut-Erik Dalene presented a paper entitled: “BONE MINERAL DENSITY INCREASES AFTER 13 WEEKS OF STRENGTH TRAINING IN SENIOR CITIZENS”. Co-authors were: Nils KVAMME, Truls RAASTAD and Sissel TOMTEN.
It goes without saying that we are very proud to have received this international scientific recognition for the research done at NIH and the research center at the department of physical performance, says Jan Cabri, Head of the Dept. Physical Performance.
