Norwegian School of Sport Sciences offers courses of study at Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral level.
The education has a high international quality and gives the students competence that is relevant for society and stimulates personal development.
Bachelor Programmes
The first year is the basic course in sport sciences and is common for all the Bachelor courses. The School subsequently offers five bachelor courses with the following specializations:
- Physical activity and health
- Coaching
- Sport management
- Physical education – teacher education
- Sport biology
One year studies - basic level
- Sport and society
- Outdoor education
One year studies - intermediate level
- Adapted Physical Activity
- Practical-pedagogical Education
- Sport, Culture and Development Cooperation
Graduate level
The courses can be continued at the Masters level where the students have a range of different study modules to choose from.
The School’s three year PhD programme is a continuation from a Master's degree in sport science. Other relevant Master studies can in some cases be approved as a basis for admission to the programme.
Exchange students
There are some courses in English, but these courses are only open to exchange students from partner institutions. Please see the webpages for exchange students for more information.
