Today some 70 students are enrolled in the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences doctoral degree programme.
The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NSSS) awarded its first doctoral degree in 1990. Since then over 100 candidates have completed their doctoral degree at this school.
Educational requirements
To be admitted to the doctoral programme at the NSSS, you must usually hold a master's degree in Sports science or an equivalent education at this level.
As an applicant for doctoral studies, you must as a rule have received an overall mark of B or superior for your master's or equivalent degree.
Funding requirements
As a candidate, you must be able to document adequate funding to be admitted to the doctoral programme.
Application procedure and form
The Committee for Research Education (the "KFU") is responsible for decisions concerning admission to the doctoral programme. For full details on admission and contents of the doctoral studies, please read the standard regulations.

In addition to externally funded PhD students, the NSSS funds 32 fellowship positions annually. You may submit your application to the doctoral programme on an ongoing basis.
