Kathrin Steffen, PhD, is a senior researcher at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center. In February 2008, she defended her thesis "Injuries in female youth football - prevention, performance and risk factors". Kathrin´s primary research field is sports injury prevention, with focus on recreational sports and ACL research. Presently, she leads the outreach activities of the OSTRC. Kathrin also serves as a research assistant at the Department of Medical & Scientific Activities in the International Olympic Committee (IOC). She is the assistant editor for the 4 annual issues of the IOC supported journal British Journal of Sports Medicine Injury Prevention & Health Protection, in addition to be involved in other IOC driven research projects.
